Pompeo Pontone – Biography
Pompeo Pontone graduated in Economics from the Bocconi University in Milan in 1994. He continued his studies in London, receiving a Master of Science in Quantitative Finance from the Birkbeck College. His career started in London in 1995, working as a Research Analyst at Stone & McCarthy Research Associates. He came back to Italy the following year and served as a Fixed Income Analyst at Unicredit in Milan. After coming back again to the United Kingdom, he joined Pioneer Investments, a firm specializing in investment funds management, holding the position of Vice President and Senior Fund Manager. In 1999 he was named Director - Co-Head of Credit Portfolios & Asset Management at Intesa Asset Management (known today as Intesa San Paolo). From 2001 to 2002, he held the position of Managing Director - Head of Corporate Bonds & Credit Derivatives Asset Management at FinecoBank. Soon after this experience, he joined BMPS, where he was appointed Managing Director - Head of Corporate Bonds & Credit Derivatives Proprietary Trading. Between 2010 and 2012 he was again in London, where he held first the position of Managing Director - Head of Alternative Investments and Asset Management at Amstel Securities LLP, and then the role of Senior Financial Advisor at Method Investments & Advisory Ltd. With over 20 years of experience, Pompeo Pontone specialized in trading of financial derivatives, and actually works as a specialized consultant and investor, applying his skills in financial economics, quantitative finance, econometrics, and stochastic modeling. Being passionate about Computer Science and skilled in programming (Java, Python) and cyber security, Pompeo Pontone is active in projects related to private equity, FinTech, and blockchain.
